Â鶹¹ÙÍø Holds 47th Annual Commencement

It was a night of celebration as the 2016-2017 graduates of Â鶹¹ÙÍø walked across the stage to get their degree or certificate during the 47th annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 5.

Â鶹¹ÙÍø anticipates awarding more than 2,000 associate degrees and certificates for this academic year. Final numbers won’t be available until the completion of the summer semester.
Former Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives T.W. Shannon was the keynote speaker. Shannon was the first Chickasaw and first African-American to become Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2013 and the youngest at the age of 34.

Â鶹¹ÙÍø President and CEO Leigh B. Goodson will be inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame's 2026 class. The statewide honor recognizes Goodson’s leadership at Â鶹¹ÙÍø and her broader contributions to higher education, student success, and educational opportunity in Oklahoma.
